A: That message, "failed to initialize renderer Hardware T&L required by not supported by adapter" usually indicates that the video card in the system is below the requirements and lacks the functionality required to run the game. Make sure you have one of these supported video cards. * NVIDIA GeForce 200 series * NVIDIA Geforce 9800 series * NVIDIA Geforce 9600 series * NVIDIA Geforce 8800 series * NVIDIA Geforce 8600 series * NVIDIA Geforce 8500 series * NVIDIA Geforce 8400 series * NVIDIA Geforce 7900 series * NVIDIA Geforce 7800 series * NVIDIA Geforce 7600 series * NVIDIA Geforce 7300 series * NVIDIA GeForce 6800 series * ATI HD 4800 series * ATI HD 4600 series * ATI HD 3800 series * ATI HD 3600 series * ATI HD 3400 series * ATI HD 2900 series * ATI HD 2600 series * ATI HD 2400 series * ATI X1900 series * ATI X1800 series * ATI X1600 series * ATI X1300 series * ATI X850 series

  • Answer:

If you don't have a PCI-E express slot, chances are you probably have an older PCI slot (or an AGP, if your computer is really old). There are PCI cards out there, although none of them will really run Fallout 3 -- PCI cards were out of production by 2003. Sorry, but looks like you'll have to wait until you get a new system that has a more up to date motherboard and a PCI-E 16x slot The PCI-E 16x looks like this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:PCI-Express-Bus.jpg This is a PCI slot: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:PCI_Slots_Digon3.JPG
