How do I use the web cam on my computer?

Why wont my computer read disk or use web cam software?

  • My HP Pavillion dv600 that I purchased about 3 years ago, has randomly stop reading any disk that I insert. Also the web cam software that came installed in it will not work the program opens up, but the web cam light doesn't come on or show anything. I've restarted my computer many times and still nothing. How can I fix this?

  • Answer:

You maybe have he autorun windows feature disabled, just go to "My Computer", and then manually doble click the DVD-CDROM from there. If this does not work, try to reset the laptop to factory and see if it helps. If this does not work, your DVD-CDROM is broken, you need to get a new one, since it is not a software issue. The cam, since it is (most likely) an USB device, some of them does not actually work until the operate system send them a message that the driver actually exist. So.. In other words you probably needs to have the driver (or cam software) before, to get it to work. You can try to find it in an internet search engine, such as google or yahoo, without using the disk, just write this query: youCamModel driver download Regards Rod
