Computer not reading external hard drive?
-
Suddenly my external hard drive isn't read by my computer. It makes the noise whenever I connect it and it shows up in hardware and printers in the control panel, but it isn't assigned a drive letter or seen from windows explorer. I tested the cable, and it's working, and no noises or out of the usual behavior is coming from the drive. I thought of formatting it but I don't want to lose all of my documents. Also, I tested it in another computer but it was the same thing. Could anyone help?
