How to get your compouter to output to two screen? Vga Splitter?

Need some info form someone in the know. Well, I want to do this for flight simulator, I want to show two different screens but use the same computer so I can show certain instruments on one screen and other stuff on another screen? Would a VGA splitter do this for me? NOTE that I don't want the same picture on both screen I want to be able to configure them both to different views. Cheers,

A splitter will give you the same image on both screens. What you need is a video card with dual outputs. You plug 2 monitors into it and configure your desktop to extend the screen.

some video cards have two or three output connectors. this means that you can specify a screen with more pixels than you would normally, and the other pixels can be put onto a 2nd display. so if a game can accomodate a pixel screen size wider than 1 screen then you are ok to go and buy a new video card. a PC can also support Two video cards, but most applications cant.
