How to start my application when device boots?

No boot device available help?

  • I have a Dell Inspiron 531 that I'm trying to reformat the hard drive. I got the ultimate boot CD to wipe my hard drive clean. I start my computer and press F2 to choose which order my computer boots from. I chose my DVD drive after putting in the CD and it boots straight from my HDD instead. I've tried multiple times and the same thing happens. So I made it so it would only boot from my DVD or a removable driver. When I do that my computer goes to a black screen and it says. "No boot device available SATA 0:Installed SATA 1:Installed SATA 2:None SATA 3:None" And it stays at that screen, I've let it sit there for like 20 minutes and nothing happens. I'm not sure what to do, all I want to do is wipe my hard drive like new. Help please.

  • Answer:

Your CD is not a good boot able CD. Asking question on internet means you have at least two computers. you can wipe your HDD by attaching it with in the second computer.
