How do I change the home page to a smaller version?

How do I successfully change my home page??!!?

  • I need major help changing my home page!! Please tell me what I'm doing wrong... Our current home page is the website of our home town. It's been on here forever and I want to change it to Google. This computer is a Windows XP. I've looked up how to change it on Y!A, and I've done all the steps: - I copied the url for google - Went to Tools > Internet options - Got rid of the town website and pasted the url address in the home page box - Hit Apply and then Ok. After that, I clicked on the home page button and it went to the Google page. I thought it was fixed. But when I exited out of internet explorer and opened it back up later, the home page went back to our town website!! I've also gone to the Google page, went to Tools > Internet Options > Use current > Apply > Ok. That didn't work either. I've done it a bunch of different ways and it's like the computer won't save the changes. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong. Or tell me a different way to do it. Thanks! ^-^

  • Answer:

Both methods are correct and should have worked. Maybe your computer has some irritating spyware that disables you from saving personalized settings. Or maybe it is your ISP?(Very low chance)

Other answers

You did it right both times. The problem appears to be that you're using IE as your browser. Download Firefox - it works as advertised.
