Can anyone tell me how to backup my current firefox favs & *RESTORE* my old favs?

my pc died & i had my hard drive recovered by a lab. during the time it was gone, i saved some favs in firefox. i know have my hard drive back with the old favs but i need to restore them, i cant just replace. 1. how do i restore the old ones? 2. how do i restore the old ones while keeping the newest ones and not just deleting them? im using firefox on windows 7 and by "favs" i mean favorites or bookmarks.
