How can I stop my browser from redirecting?

How to I stop my browser from redirecting to "Protectsearch.ws" and "anagoza.com"?

  • OK, I'm almost at my wits end trying to remove this from my PC. I'm running Win 7 and Firefox (the latest version). Every time I search on Google, when I click a link it first filters (or redirects) the link through something a web site called "PROTECTSEARCH.WS" and also "anagoza.com" I'm trying to stop happening and simply have the links I click on go to the clicked on web link directly. So far I've tried the following programs to remove it using the following tools and FULL Scans without any luck > - FREE AVG Antivirus (local program) - Panda Active Scan 2.0 Antivirus Scan (online scan) - Webroot Spysweeper - Spybot - Search & Destroy - CC Cleaner - Spyware Doctor 7 - AVG Anti RootKit - SUPERAntispyware - Malware Bytes I even turned off the Restore feature on the hard drive so that on a reboot if I was able to remove the problem, that it wouldn't reset itself. I even thought it was my host file and I went to the MS Web site and was able to reset my hosts file to the default. Protectsearch is owned by > http://www.networksolutions.com/whois-search/protectsearch.ws And I tried following this link and couldn't find anything out at the owners site. If anyone knows how to remove this (without completely reformatting my system) it would be appreciated if you can point me in a direction. Thanks

  • Answer:

I'm in the same boat. Did all of the above. Ran across a site from another type of redirect malware and the said it was a poisoned DNS (and affects the router). so i flushed my DNS, .. RUN//CMD///IPCONFIG/FLUSHDNS after unplugging my computer from the internet, i ran all programs again. and problem seemed to have gone away. and then it started again, and became more frequent. someone has to have an answer, googlefu is useless on this one.

I would love to find out the answer as well, as I have the same problem as you. I have also tried running many of those same programs in safe mode, but nothing has worked. There is nothing in the add/remove programs either... Update: Just blocked the protectsearch website on my computer, and now google search in firefox is useless. All the searches were opening that page first, so I need to find out how to fix that. At least I know that they aren't stealing any more of my info.

Same problem, Think it has to do with a google-firefox issue. Tried lots of things, no joy. Help! .............. Well tried this: Uninstalled my firefox, then downloaded and reinstalled a new copy. Used the custom settings button in the installation process and added a number to the end of the default install location so as to install in a different folder. Results: so far every thing is working fine, Firefox actually seems to work quicker then it did. Cautions: Back up your bookmarks, write down your save passwords and your add ons.

un install ur tool bar software from ur control panel there u can see other softwares like this just un install them all and delete ur history complete this will help u
