does anyone know of a more reliable provider of broadband-I feel I'm getting ripped off by staying with att(formerly sbc)-my location is northern suburbs of Chicago

Answer:
power off your modem remove all the cables from it and replug them after a minute or so then turn it on.check your speed ,What is the browser you use? I assume it is IE6. Check if it works 1. open IE 2. Tools >Internet options 3. General> Delete Cookies ,Delete Files Run speedtest again you should get a higher speed.
