How can I fix my delete key in VIM over ssh?

I can not delete JPG files saved to the desktop - how do I fix it?

  • All of a sudden JPG files I have saved to the desktop are saved in a manner that does not allow them to be deleted. I get the error message that access is denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write protected and that the files are not currently in use. The problem is only with JPG files saved from the internet. If I copy and paste a file from my computer to the desktop, I can delete those. Also if I save JPG files from the internet to a folder not on the desktop I can delete those. I am not using the file I can not rename them. The Unlocker program says that the file is not being locked by an application but the Unlocker program does allow me to delete them. WHAT IS WRONG AND HOW DO I FIX IT?

  • Answer:

Restart your computer and login safemode. (Preferably to the default 'Administrator' login). Open Explorer>Documents and Settings>Your ID>Desktop.. Select the jpg files and delete.
