I am trying to transfer music from my windows vista computer to my windows xp, why wont this work?

every which I try to do this, it wont work. I put the songs on a disc and drag the files off and when I take the disc out the computer says" You do not have the whole file"but while the disc is in everything works fine and the same thing with a external hard drive and with a flash drive so my what I'm thinking is what if I upgraded the xp computer to windows 7 or vista?would this work?

I've never had that happen.. I'd guess the Optical Drives are defective.. ..and the application your useing to "burn" a CD..having issues.. === I create all my files in Windows[tm] Explorer.

There is something wrong in the transfer process... it wouldn't matter if you have 7 or not. You are doing something wrong. I just can't tell what from your explanation.
