How to set up wireless internet on my desktop?

  • my brother has a modem with a wireless Belkin router. We use xbox live and he has a line that goes into his xbox for an active internet connection for his xbox. ive been using my laptop for my connection and it instantly picks up the internet from the internet and its extremely fast. the problem is, i've recently bought a new desktop and it doesnt have internet on it. what kind i get to hook up to my new desktop that will allow me to pick up the internet signal in my brothers room and i wont have to have wires running across the whole house? basically, is there any way i can set my desktop up to instantly pick up my brothers internet in the other room...just like my laptop does now? thank you very much!

    A wireless network card. Try for a USB type, and if it does not have an extension lead of its' own, buy a USB extension cable to get it up and out from behind the pc.Otherwise it will lose signal.

Well First You have to find out if your desktop has Wi-Fi. This will enable your computer to pick up wireless internet networks. Once you figure that out the computer should automatically pick up the signal. BTW there is a switch that will turn on wi fi if you have it
