Blue screen error on my computer when i start it?
-
Okay, we had a thunderstorm last night, and I told my brother to turn my computer off, instead of going to the start menu, he pressed and held the power button. Now whenever I turn it on, I get a blue screen telling me that I have an error with my Mountable_Boot_Volume. What do i do? Can i get around this "Error screen" It says it stopped my computer so it wouldn't get harmed.. But i doubt there is any harm.. so can i bypass this... Or anything to help.. "not a computer techy.. Don't use big words"

Answer:
I am a computer tech, but i will try to use "little words" No you can not just bypass this error, if you bypass this error, you are just ignoring a problem that will never go away unless you fix the problem. I have one solution. Do you have the disk that came with the computer when you first purchased it??? If so, put the disk inside the computer, and then press the f12 button on your laptop. (located on the top row of your keyboard) Before i continue, its "Unmountable_Boot_Volume" not mountable... once you have pressed f12 then go down to the option of IDE or CD ROM drive, usually option number 4, different some computers. Then it will come up with "press any key to boot from cd" do that and it will take you to another blue screen, and then press the letter "r" on your keyboard. Once you have done that, it will take you to a black screen. once you are at the black screen, type in these following letters and punctuation: chkdsk /r Since i cant use big words I'll try to explain what this does. "fixes your blue screen..." yeah that sums it all up if you have any questions just email me. hope this helps --------------------------------------… i have another solution because you did say you "can" bypass it. go in your account, then click on "start" "run" type in "chkdsk /r" this way you dont need the disk, i have seen much worse blue screens, so that's why i gave you the first answer, but the second once is much easier for you to use.
