Help with computer hardware?

Computer Hardware Error - Please Help?

  • About two weeks ago my computer contracted a virus and I installed Malware, Ad-Aware, Avast, and Spybot scanners to get rid of it. After I ran the tests and all scans came up clear, I thought my computer was fine. I tried to plug in my iPod one day and found that it iTunes nor my computer would recognize my iPod. After I ran a diagnostic test that showed it was not connected, I clicked on "help" and this brought me to a Microsoft page where there was a "fix it for me" button. After I installed the software, which is "DeleteUpperandLowerFiltersForUSBorExter… my computer automatically restarted. Upon reloading, a blue error screen came up saying that there was damaged hardware on my computer and it could not run. I click on restoring it to the options it was set on the last time it ran and Windows came back, but very, very slowly. I tried to uninstall the software which was sitting on my desktop and it told me the software was not on my computer so I deleted the "Windows Installer Package." I don't know what this has done to my computer or if I'll have another problem when I next boot it up. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and God bless.

I bet you still have malware and/or viruses. If you don't remove them completely, if you have even a small remnant remaining, they can recreate themselves upon reboot (they are clever little buggers!!!)... Use the 2 programs I use - they work wonderfully... Anti-Virus - Here's the one I use. Download, install, update, and run on your entire C: drive AVG (made by a company called Grisoft), it's completely free they just asked that companies pay for it. http://download.cnet.com/AVG-Anti-Virus-Free-Edition/3000-2239_4-10320142.html?tag=mncol Malwarebytes - Here's the one I use. Download, install, update, and run on your entire C: drive. This program looks for and removes malware, spyware, and adware. Malwarebytes, it's completely free you just have to pay if you want live protection and live updates. But all that means is in the free version you just have to start it manually and run the updates manually but it works great! http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html?tag=mncol You should be good after you use these. Good luck ;)

i dont know but this has happened to me long time back i tried so many ways but didnt work i think ur OS (operating system) is not genuine microsoft has installed a spyware or something in ur computer... only way to get rid of it is to re install ur OS to make it as good as new...

STAY AWAY FROM MICROSOFT! they suck. uninstall all hardware, except the essentials. run avg (look iy up, its free virus stuff) run this and spyboy. then uninstall all the microsoft fixing rubbish. then only reinstall your ipod thn hopfully iy should work. typing one handed, wriggling baby in other, very difficult, sorry about typos

The USB fix u downloaded was most likely a virus. At this point the best thing you could do is to save all of your important data to CD's or DVD's, then format the hard drive and use your system recovery disks to put the PC back to the point to when you got it new. This way you will know for sure that all viruses are gone, and it will probably fix your USB problem too. Unless the problem is with the physical USB port(s).
