How do I install themes for Windows XP; 32 Bit; Service Pack 3?

I would like to install a new theme to my PC, since the regular Windows XP theme just bores me. I have followed advice from one website and downloaded a UX Patcher. But it tells me that it can't open the file. I am a limited user, by the way. And installing the theme, I somewhat know what to do, but I'm a little confused. Any help on this section isn't necessary, but I would greatly appriciate it! Thanks! :)
