How can I record games on my iMac 27" Core i7 with sound and not Quicktime?

I've been recording my gameplay footage of Portal and been recording it with Quicktime. Thing is, the videos are long and won't export to a diff file on Quicktime and also they come out with no sound on YouTube because YT doesn't support the QT Audio Codec. When I record with Quicktime and put it up on YT it comes out in 1080p and also has the "Original" option. I want a screen recorder/game recorder that can give me the same quality as Quicktime gives me and I also want to be able to record sound directly from the game. I need this for a Mac and also give me a different suggestion from Soundflower for recording Audio for applications.

Haha I was in that same situation today. I was recording portal too! Download a free program called screenflow. That will do it for you. I recorded over 30 min today
