Is zero-based indexing impossible?

How to best setup Win7 Indexing Options?

  • When I run Win7 with default Indexing Options, it seems to be kinda slow. Win Media player really bogs down and even 'hangs' for a few sec's. If I Index 'most' folders - programs, music, pics, docs, from different HDD's, it seems to be faster.. (Even though I hear it's best not to use Indexing for heaps of folders, coz' it will slow things down). For best performance, what folders should I Index, and which folders NOT to Index? spec - Phenom II X4 965 HD5850 1GB 4GB DDR3-1600 1TB, 500GB, 320GB HDD's Thanks.

  • Answer:

Index the folders you access most often. Folders for videos, documents, programs etc. Don't index your entire hard drive, this usually slows down the performance of your hard drive by giving too much of a task (Saving 200GB+ of search data will take time and effort on your hard drive!).
