Why is my aol.com out of order?

Why can't I view pictures on my computer in order?

• I am so confused. I just dumped about 125 pictures from my camera onto my computer. They are all named like "DVC01059" etc etc. Some of the pictures I had renamed and therefore they showed in a different order. These are all pics of a project I was working on from start to finish, so I want all the pics to show in order. I put them in order and highlighted all of them and then renamed them all at once, giving the first image the name as only A. This made all the pics be numbered as A(01), A(02),A(03), etc etc. However, now when I view the pics in my picture viewer (I use ACDSee), instead of showing the pics in order, it goes from A(01) to A(10) to A(100), and then counts up to 109, then goes to 10 - it's all out of whack. It's showing the images not based in order, but based off of everything that has a 1 in front of it. I even painstakingly renamed every image by hand - 1, 2, 3, 4, etc etc. Same thing happens when I try to view it in my picture viewer. So then I downloaded a free batch image renaming program, thinking I would rename them with it. Even that program, when I load all the images in it, pulls the images out of order, just like I described previously. So I can't use it to even rename them, because they are already out of order when I load them into that program, so renaming them would just further complicate the issue. I cannot believe something that should be so simple can be so complicated. I just want to be able to view these pictures in order. Can anybody tell me what to do to fix this?

• Answer:

  Put in extra 0's. For example, if you have 100 pictures it should start with 001, then 002, etc. For 1,000 pictures, 0001, 0002, etc. ADDITIONAL: George - Instead of 0's try numbering them 1111, 1112, 1113, etc.
