Sony Vaoi webcam not working?

Hello, My Sony Vaio VGN-NW240F Motion Eye built in webcam has stopped working (windows 7 / 64). I have tried it on Skype, MSN and Facebook so that is not the issue. The green light comes on and the image appears for a moment in high contrast then disappears to a black screen where only light shows up, but it appears green.
