How can I get the ip address of my minecraft server?
-
so i basically made this server for my friend and i to play on but i typed in for the server address as it being a localhost, so how can i find out what he needs to put to log into my server! if you get me... thanks ever so much!

Answer:
Depends, if he is not on your network then you will have to open a port and give him your external ip address, which can be found here: https://www.whatismyip.com/ but if he is with you on the network he will have to type in the internal ip address which can be found by going to Start < cmd. Then type "ipconfig" and the one that says IPv4 adress should be the one that he has to type in. Warning: Do not give out your external ip adress to any stranger since this could lead to you getting hacked.
