Can you help me with instant messenger?

Hyperactive computer mouse, occasionally stubborn enter key with instant messenger - can you help me, please?

• In the last week or so, my mouse has taken to triple and quadruple clicking on things... I updated and ran my spyware and virus scanners, thinking perhaps I'd contracted something, but nothing turned up in that respect. Also, same time-frame, sometimes enter doesn't work to submit a message via Yahoo! instant messenger. It always has before, and sometimes does, but it's hit and miss now. Anyone know what could be going on? Thanks! It's a mouse with a wire but a laser instead of a ball, and the keyboard is the traditional wired type.

  We were having similar problems and what worked was getting rid of the wireless mouse and moving the cordless phone. The U-verse tech said they all work on the same frequency.
