Is there any way to know if an audio file was coded from a lower bitrate?
-
For example if a 320 kbps mp3 file was coded from a lower bitrate like 128 kbps. Or a .WAV file that was coded from a lossy format like 320 kbps mp3. I was thinking if there is a free program out there that would analyze an audio tracks frequency range graphically I could see where the frequencies are cut off and know if the audio file was once a lower bitrate.

Answer:
No there is no program to check this, but you can easily tell the difference between them if you have good headphones.

If your using Windows - you can add a Bit rate field. For example go to My documents, and at the top where it say's "Name | Date Modified | Type Size |Tags" all your viewing fields - right click there, and you can add some extra fields to view information about files such as Bit rate.
