  • Answer:

First, DON'T CHANGE YOUR WALLPAPER- YOU MAY LOSE IT! Try: C:\Documents and Settings\Your user name\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Wallpaper1.bmp If fail, try: C:\windows\web\wallpaper If you don't see Local Settings follow steps: Click Start, and then click Control Panel. Click Appearance and Themes, and then click Folder Options. On the View tab, under Hidden files and folders, click Show hidden files and folders. click ok or apply post back here if you cant find it or message me through my username

usually windows xp uses 'my documents / my pictures' if you know the name of the file but not the location, try using the search facility and search c: drive (remember to include hidden and system files).

Usually if you don't save the wallpaper, it is in Windows temporary file folder somewhere in your computer. So if you change the wallpaper, your wallpaper will be gone I have no clue as to find the image file because usually its somewhere you won't look.

On your Windows XP desktop, do the following: - click Start > Control Panel > Display (Display properties) in the "Display Properties" dialog, click on the "Desktop" tab There you will see lots of bitmaps. They exist in some folder on your computer. . . . . if I am correct, they all exist within your "C:\WINDOWS" folder. Thus, I would suggest searching for the file in your "C:\WINDOWS" folder on your C: drive.
