Why wont my computer read cd's and how can I fix it?

  • Everytime I put a cd in my Cd drive the computer won't read the cd. I bought an external CD drive and put in some cd's and it still wouldn't read the cd's. So it's the computer that won't read the cd's. Why won't it read Cd's and how can I get it to read them? I really need to know!! Thank you!

    Go buy a cd cleaner it will run you like 5 dollars or take a Q-Tip and rub some alcohol on the laser eye make sure after doing that wipe the laser eye dry with a dry Q-Tip then it will read cds
