Should I work with computers and animation?

  • I enjoy doing video-editing, using photoshop, producing music, and creating pieces of art. I'm also great at freehand drawing/art and am currently attempting to build a website with Photoshop. I've been doing most of this since age 12 and began drawing since birth. Now, my parents want me to stay in college to pursue accounting, but I just don't have that much interest in the field. I'm not too fond of law, medicine, science, hardcore mathematics, etc. I'm aware that the computers, graphic design, and animation fields are very saturated, but I don't want to be led into doing something like accounting. I want to work with my true love instead... :)

Either way you should go to college for it. I am a self taught graphic designer with no college degree. I've done it for 11 years but if I had to go out and get a real job doing what I do I would have trouble, they all want you to have a 4 year degree. There is nothing worse than doing something you don't want to do, at the same time there is nothing worse than being unemployed and depending on your parents and them rabbiting down your hear hole to get a job, My advise is carry on with your college course and pursue your desire in Video, Audio and 3D Animation Graphics and Photo Editing in your spare time, No doubt in the passed you have had problems doing your Video, Audio and 3D Animation Graphics and Photo Editing using what ever version of windows your using, because it crashed or froze up, lost files or what ever the case might have been.
