How can I change my apache server's default url from the server IP address to a friendly url?
-
First, let me get this out of the way. I am a LAMP newb. I have a wiki set up on my apache server and currently the only way to browse to the wiki is to type in the IP address of the server/wikiname/dbname. I want to change the apache server's settings to have a "www.example.com" set up instead of the IP address. How can I do this?

Answer:
Buy a domain name. If you just want it on your LAN, you'll have to set up a WINS or other name service on the LAN.
