How to send video stream to soap web service?

What would be the best way to stream a video/movie over the internet with these options?

  • I'm looking for a good server/client option for streaming a DVD movie or video from my hard drive over the internet; I'm moving out-of-state in a few weeks, and some friends and I would like to continue having our "movie night"s together, but online. Now, I know there are several options out there for this; most recently, I've been checking out UStream, but I don't like how you can't have the chat window open at all if it's in fullscreen, and there are no options besides "little" and "full-screen", anyway. So, I'm looking for other options. I'm willing to pay a little bit for a service, but nothing monthly/yearly or anything, so don't be afraid of posting pay services up here. Here are some of the ideal things I'd like to have and be able to do: - Streaming high-quality video over the interwebs (duh) - Good sound quality - Pausable (and if POSSIBLE - haha - by clients, as well) - Chat (text AND voice would be cool, but voice isn't really necessary I guess since it'd be distracting; perhaps voice chat that can be disabled during video play?) - Audio/video can be streamed over AirPlay and/or to an AppleTV? Would be sweet to output the video to my own AppleTV while watching, for example, however, I haven't seen many things at all that actually support AirPlay, outside of Apple's own crap. - Linux-compatible. Obviously, if it's web-based, it'll be Linux-compatible, but if there's a client that needs to be downloaded, it absolutely must be Linux-compatible. THE MOST IMPORTANT PARTY MEMBER IS A PENGUIN So, there you have it. Throw out any and all suggestions that you may have - I'll try them all when I get time. Thanks in advance!

  • Answer:

http://www.freemake.com/free_video_converter/ Get this. Rip/transfer your movies into an Apple TV format. Install iTunes on your computer. Get the Apple TV. Store your movies on your computer or external HDD or wherever. Then stream to the Apple TV.
