How do you send email through Microsoft Works?

Microsoft Vista question!? Can i send a microsoft works file to someone without vista via email.?

  • I made a document on Microsoft Works word processor and i want to send it to someone using Yahoo! mail by attaching the file. this person im sending it too does not have vista. Can they still open and print the file? Its a .wps file if that helps.

  • Answer:

The recipient will have to have Microsoft Works. That is the program that makes the file. The operating system (XP, Vista, Mac OS X, Linux) just provides a platform for programs to run on. It is the programs (also called applications) that create the data (documents, pictures, songs, etc.). In order to use a file, you have to have an application that can decipher the file. The email program simply provides a method of exchanging information. It does not change that information. It is kind of like your phone - it doesn't matter what type of phone you have, or who your carrier is, you can talk to other people. If works allows you to save the file as some other type, such as RTF (Ritch Text Format), that might be your best bet. Most word processors can use RTF files. For a better long-term solution, go to http://www.openoffice.org and download the software. It is free, open source software, and MUCH better than Works.
