What is a good computer career to major in?

What is a good computer related career path to get started on?

  • I'm currently in graphic design but with the job market being terrible these days I'd like to expand my options and go to a technical school to learn a computer related trade. My dad went from being a truck driver for 20 years to becoming a computer technician after going to school for a short period of time, so I know it's not all that difficult. My question is, what are my options? How many different types of computer/network career options are there? Just looking for a general place to start because I wanna begin narrowing things down and choosing a good school. Thanks!

Learn Adobe Web Premium and set up your own web design and hosting business, there is plenty of web design business out there and if you also provide hosting its a big plus. There is plenty of services offering Unlimited Hosting services for less then $150 a year. Also learn computer building, repair, troubleshooting. I custom build business & gaming computers as a second income stream plus contract web design work from Europe and US companies.

Computer Science Engineering is a fantastic field however it's very difficult (for some) and deals with software (programming mainly). Some colleges have programs that are CSE technology which focuses on the hardware. Maybe look into that?
