I have a built in webcam, but when I try to start a video call with my friend, it won't work!?

I'm on MSN, and me and my friend are trying to do a video call. I click the 'Video' tab at the top, and her webcam comes up but mine doesn't. It says, 'To make a Video Call, you need to use a webcam. Plug in your webcam now. If you don't have a webcam, you can buy one here.)' But I have a built in one! How can I get my webcam to work?

For yahoo, I open the webcam program first, then when I want to share it, it would recognize it.
