Burning flip videos to dvd help?

Size vs Length DVD Burning?

  • I need help with burning a dvd. I keep getting an error that the videos I've queued for burning exceed the time limit on the DVD. My question is that the videos I've added only add up to roughly 2gigs. The dvd size is 4gb. How can the dvd be full? any help is appreciated.

If you just want to burn your 2gb videos onto a 4gb dvd disc as a data dvd for backup, don't care the 2hours length limit, you just need to keep the total size of all video files lower the disc size limit, so it's no problem that burn a 2gb videos onto a 4gb dvd disc as data DVD, you can use Nero or RZ Free DVD Burner to burn all video files onto a DVD disc as a data DVD, but the burned data dvd can't be played on normal DVD player, only play on computer, so if you want to play the burned dvd on DVD player, you have to convert and burn your video files to video DVD, video DVD use mpeg-2 codec to encode video data, and your videos use another codec to encode video data, different codec has different compression rate, so maybe a 2gb videos need 4gb or more space when convert to video dvd, so for video dvd buring, you need to care the size and length limit, a normal software only burn 2 hour videos onto a 4gb DVD dvd, but with a better software, you can fit/burn 2hours or 4gb or more videos onto a 4gb DVD disc, you can follow me to use RZ DVD Creator, it can fit/burn long/large videos onto one dvd, it can convert any videos to video dvd and burn to any dvd disc(DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, DVD-R DL, DVD+R DL, etc), easy to use, insert a 4gb DVD disc into dvd burner drive, run RZ DVD Creator, select the dvd burner drive as target folder, directly drag and drop your long or large videos into the program, then if you view a message tip "Source DVD size is larger than CD/DVD disc capacity", simply press "Yes", then press START button, the program will convert your videos to a video DVD and burn onto inserted 4gb DVD disc, and you can play the burned video DVD well on DVD player. You can google or yahoo search and download RZ DVD Creator, hope it can help you.

I recommed you to use Leawo Free DVD Creator It is easy to use, and it can convert videos to dvd in several steps. You can find Leawo Free DVD Creator here: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&newwindow=1&q=leawo+dvd+creator&aq=f&aqi=g2&oq= It must can help you, good luck!

My guess is that you are converting low data rate (internet) videos to DVD, so that when they are up-sampled, the DVD versions are larger than 4.7G. There are a few different data rates supported by the DVD standard, so check to see what your burner software is set to, and compare to the data rate of your original videos.

I use DVDShrink 3.0. I upload the files, it shrinks it for me and then it fits on a 4GB disc. E-mail me if you need help with it. I wrote a guide on it and I can e-mail it to you.
