How to use downloaded fonts?

How do I use the fonts that I downloaded?

  • I downloaded a few fonts off of www.fontspace.com, but I don't know how to use them in things like notepad. I've tried the whole control panel install font and copy/paste things, but they don't work. Whenever I try the copy/paste thing, it says the file is either invalid or damaged. Whenever I try the install font thing, I go under the folder that I saved them on and they arent there. Can someone please help me? Thanks! :)

  • Answer:

Most of the fonts come under .zip or .rar compressed files. Before installation, you first need to unzip them to get out the real font file with extensions like .ttf or .otf. Then you can copy paste these real font files into your c:\windows\fonts folder and they will be get automatically installed.

Hi Caitlin, Try going to your Windows > Fonts folder and copying them directly into there. If that doesn't work, the file(s) you downloaded are either damaged or corrupt. - Mordecai.
