How to install Ubuntu 9.04?

I am trying to install ubuntu?

  • Hi guys, I am trying to install ubuntu on a mac using parallels. I already was W7 on parallels and am wanting to have ubuntu on as well. I was ubuntu saved as a .iso file. I click the + button and select install windows from a disk or image file. I then select ubuntu and it says that it can't tell what operating system it is. I select ubuntu. It when loads ubuntu I select install now and it says that there isn't any other operating systems and do I want to delete everything and just install that. Why can't it deceit OSX lion? Thanks

  • Answer:

Start by determining if the problem is with Parallels or with the iso you downloaded. Download and install Virtualbox (it's free) and use it to try and install from the iso. If it works, try the Parallels forums for help. If it fails, you may have a bad iso.

Ubuntu IS NOT Windows To install Ubuntu you will need to either burn the ISO to a CD/DVD or load it to a USB, and install with the Ubuntu installer. The Ubuntu installer is one of the best, especially for people who have never installed an OS. It will take you through the install step by step and most people install Ubuntu beside another OS at least the first time.

I Think You have an windows edition of ubuntu try to load it from windows 7 or install it during the boot
