Okay guys last night i locked myself out of my iphone. I need help! How do i restore without losing pics/data?

Its a iphone 4 if it matters. Im really worried about losing all my pictures/music/data. I changed my password lastnight then almost instantly forgot the new password:/ Then i permanently locked my self out. I need help restoring without losing my stuff. I read online if i back it up now then restore my phone. backup my stuff to my phone again the forgotten password will still be there??
