Why can my forum members never get along?

  • I own a forum and trying really really hard to get it started up full time. My problem is, my forum members (it's a sports site) ALWAYS get into an argument and someone ends up leaving. I'm so SICK of it. The debates happen, and someone always gets bothered and leaves. What can I do to keep my forum members active and STOP my members from leaving?

    Be more strict in your forums. Learn how to discipline them. You can't stop the fact that there are times when ideas of other people clash from each other. We are all different from each other that is why that it's inevitable. Try reasoning with them or enforce strict rules to those who can't stop themselves from making a ruckus.

Because Sports is a "Contact" Thing. And the "Contestants"- are EVERYWHERE !!! :)

It called the internet. There are many people out there without lives. So they ***** and whine and troll. Anyways there nothing you can do really. I had a few forum and there will always be arguments. You just gotta be strict with some of the pushy members. Ban them, don't be shy.

Actually sports fans like to argue about their team and if others get upset and leave then then they are not engaged in the forum. Make rules about language, no personal attacks, no spamming. This should help but people are people and forums are places for folks to vent and share opinions.

People always get hot and bothered about sports and their teams. It's healthy. as far as keeping your members, as an admin you can email your members. So send a friendly email every so often, (do NOT spam them!) to remind them that they are signed up and you'd love their contributions. :)
