Sims 3 may show a blue screen f your computer lacks the minimum hardware components required to run the game. It may also show it due to corrupted cache contents or problems with the newly installed custom contents. A) Make sure you have fulfilled the minimum hardware requirements: Refer the "ReadMe" document at the root of the Sims 3 installation disc. Make sure all the minimum hardware requirements are fulfilled. B) Delete the game cache: 1. Exit Sims 3 and click Start | My Documents. 2. Open EA Games\The Sims. 3. Delete Groups.cache and Cigen.package files stored there. C) Remove newly installed custom contents: 1. Exit Sims and open My Computer. 2. Double click to open: C:\Program Files\EA Games 4. Open Downloads and Mods folders & delete everything you find in them. More Info: http://smitalandvikas.com/?p=733

Update your graphics driver for maximum graphics performance. Visit the website of your graphics card manufacturer to download such updates. Download Reginout, a registry cleaning software and perform full registry scan.

make sure all the proper drivers are installed, check for updates for your graphics by going to Control Panel\System and Security\Administrative Tools then click "computer management" once that opens click device manager, find "display adapters" then right click your display adapter and click update drivers.

I think is your graphics card, it just barely meets the minimum, try upgrading it, but if the problem persist and if your computer is not a laptop, u can easily upgrade it for cheap, depending on the motherboard type as low as $10 much better than the graphics you have now.
