Are the Canon printers from Apple good?

Issues with Canon printers and their drivers?

So a while ago now I bought a new Canon printer and attempted to install the software on my laptop so I could use it but it kept saying that 'MP drivers were already installed' and as a result canceled the installation. So.. I uninstalled the other Canon printer I had on my laptop but still the same message came up. As far as I can tell there are no Canon drivers on my laptop?!? Anyway I tried to reinstall the other Canon printer again but it won't let me know because of the error message that I got with the new Canon printer. Anyone got any ideas on how I could solve this as it would be much appreciated!!
