How do you do a screen dump?

Laptop crashed & is giving me a Blue Screen Error - Physical Memory Dump?

  • A friend's laptop crashed and when we reboot it a blue screen comes up with an error saying "Registry File Failure; The registry cannot load the hive (file): \systemroot\system32config\software or its log or alternate. It is corrupt, absent, or not writable. Beginning dump of physical memory, physical memory dump complete. Please contact technical support" It won't let me get any further than this. I've read several different solutions on how to fix this and It's only made me more confused. Some say upgrade your Ram and others say insert the Operating System disk. Well I can't find the disk and I can't find out what kind of Ram I need because I can't boot the system enough to go in a look. Help please!!

insert the operating system cd and boot your laptop using the OS cd. there if u see it gives u option for repair for OS. select the option for repair and leave it.next time it reboots it will work..!!
