Even though you do not have a CD drive on the computer, you can, however, install XP with a flash drive. The main problem is you will STILL need an XP CD to copy the files to the flash drive. See if any of your friends have an XP CD and use that one. Other than that, there's nothing you can really do other than buy a copy of Windows and install it.

If the computer did not come with an XP disk then there is probably a way to do a Factory Restore within the computer. You could have a look in the manual for this. If you don't have a hardcopy manual then there is probably one on the computer somewhere. Or you could download one from the manufacturer's website. Dell computers, for example, have a Factory Restore that you can access by pressing <CTL><F11> on boot. Acers have a Factory Restore that you can find in All Programs, under Acer Utilities I think. Other makes are different.

What brand/model notebook do you have? Most notebooks come with either a recovery disc, or a recovery partition. These are used to restore your computer back to factory settings. If you let us know what brand/model notebook you have, we can try to help you find out how to recover from the recovery partition if it has one, or possible help you find a recovery disc for it.

check your computer and see if you have a recovery partition>you could also tell what brand of computer it is>like Dell, HP , sony

1) Lag is long internet ping time to the server, it has nothing to do with your computer. 2) Low frame rate isn't lag, it's a video card that's not enough for the game. (A card that has the minimum requirements will not crash when you try to play, but it WILL "lag" - big time. Your frame rate might be 1 or 2 fps. To fix that you need a better video card, and you can't change video cards in most laptops [if yours didn't come with a CD drive, you can't change the video card].) 3) Formatting renders the computer unusable until you install a new operating system, which is why it's done as part of installing an operating system, not by itself. That means that you need an operating system disk (and a CD drive to put it in) to format the computer. ("Format" means to wipe everything - including the operating system - off the hard drive.) You'll have to buy a Windows disk from the computer manufacturer and an external CD drive (assuming that your BIOS can boot from an external CD drive).
