What do you look for in a website?

What do you look for in a website? What features make you come back? What type of sites do you visit regularly? Is there anything you would ever like to see in a website? I am helping out a friend with a website... and we are trying to figure out these things. Let me know =) Thanks!

Answer:
When building a website you need to know how you will catering to the traffic. Here are some guidelines for you to follow since no website is the same (unless of course it was intentional, it's happened to me once). 1. People look for functionality and usability in a website. 2. The thing that makes people come back is if what you are offering them is valuable to them. 3. Sites people visit regularly are usually very very very saturated markets that would be nearly impossible to get a foot in. I personally visit computer and Xbox forums regularly. 4. The visitors don't come up with the ideas for websites; you do. The developers come up with the new invigorating ideas, and you test it out. If that doesn't work you move onto your next big idea. Above all else, make the content of your website VALUABLE. If your site doesn't have value, your site is meaningless to traffic, and you will never be successful on the Internet. thats tough to say as i go to different websites for different things like facebook or imdb or google or yahoo or TPB so depending on what i need i look for it
I look for what I need. That could be a computer, some help with a programming language I'm not that good with, driving directions, a phone number ... I don't just "go to" web pages - the internet is a tool I use to get what I need.

Porn mostly
Ideally a clear and crisp website with no clutter or adverts/banners etc. These are annoying and usually detract from whatever it is you are doing. Sites that provide me with information or a variety of information, since I'm in the UK I visit the BBC quite often. www.bbc.co.uk If you can provide a website that allows the users to define their content and take that content from a range of websites, like ebay, youtube, facebook, twitter etc. and news, sports entertainment, music, films etc basically this could be the best thing on the internet as there is no site that can incorporate exactly what the users want.
