Help needed in deleting an exe file...
-
hey!!i recognized a weird .exe file in one of my drives a few days back..its name goes like "AdobeRd9.0.exe"..It is about 108kb..I have tried deleting it numerous number of times.Within seconds aftr deleting it, it just reappears again! No matter whatever drive is connected to the computer, that particular .exe file alone gets transfered on its own!Though it isnt of much harm to me,i wud like it to be deleted!Until now,i havent observed any kind of a virus due to that file..I have tried all my anti virus to scan that file...but it ends up saying the file contains no virus..but if so,then y doesnt it get deleted?plz dont consider formatting as an option cos i wud really mind losing all my data!! any valid suggestion is appreciated!! thanks!

Answer:
This has nothing to do with adobe reader, it is a new infection. So far I can't find an 'official' way to remove it so it might be worth trying the usual programs - http://superantispyware.com [free version] Update and run a full scan. http://safer-networking.org Update, immunize and run a scan. There is also a tool from avast called avast virus cleaner that might be worth a try http://www.avast.com/eng/avast-virus-cleaner.html [don't confuse this with avast anti-virus] Read the instructions before using this tool. I'd switch off System Restore in case it is capable of hiding in your existing restore points. This can be turned on when you're clean.

That is adobe reader. If you want to get rid of adobe alltogether go to my computer, add and remove files, and delete the entire program. You might have to also go to REGEDIT later and type in "adobe".Then delete all adobe lines just keep hitting F3 and delete each of them till your PC tells you there are no more adobe. Be very carefull in regedit. dont delete anything that is not adobe. Good Luck

It IS a virus that is doing that. I do not know what all anti virus you have used. Have you tried Kaspersky? You could also try Anti-Spyware/Malware programs. Spybot Search & Destroy is a well known program. Also, Spyware Doctor. I am sure there are others. And also many that are specific to certain spyware/malware.
