How do I burn a dvd movie?

How to 'convert' DVD files to burn to a DVD movie?

  • I am trying so hard to burn a DVD movie onto a blank disk and it's so confusing! From what I've been reading it seems like I'm supposed to 'rip' the movie, shrink it, 'convert' it, then burn it? I have found a million different programs and guides but still can't make sense of them. The farthest I have gotten is to make a file on a disk that will play on my computer but not my DVD player. I'm supposed to convert this file to something that will play on the DVD player but I don't know how or what time during this process to do that? How exactly do I burn a DVD from start to finish? Or at least convert it? Thank you soooo so much

movie files have to be rendered correctly onto a DVD disc to make them playable on a non-PC DVD player. Software DVD burners / rendering are widely available, but the choice of software best for you might depend on what your source material is. You seem to have done some research, but you've not indicated what OS or what software you have. If you are using windows Vista, you already have access to a DVD burner in "Windows Movie Maker" or if you have the a Nero suite then that should be able to burn DVD too. Feel free to contact me if you need further advise, I have some experience in burning DVD
