Installing windows 7 from dvd?

  • hey...i've a windows 7 ultimate dvd and i want to install it.however whenn i put the dvd, the dvd drive in the laptop cannot read the dvd though it can be read on another computer :S the dvd is not scratched or anything..if anyone can help me tell me what to do..i also wanna ask when i copy the files on the disk to my laptop via network..can this work if i wanted to install windows 7 (considering the format and so... ) thanks ^^

  • Answer:

Go into the BIOS screen and make sure that the DVD drive is the first Boot device. This means that it checks the DVD drive for instructions before the hard drive, where your Operating system is stored. Also, i believe that if you boot up the computer and put in the DVD it will prompt you there to install windows. And lastly, your cd drive may be defective, or may need cleaning. Good luck!
