Why "error logging into server?

Error for other users logging on Minecraft Server.?

• I was wondering if anyone could help me with instructions on setting up a Minecraft server. I have followed any instructions I could find exactly as told or shown in setting up a server the regular way as well as with Hamachi. I have no problems logging on the server but no one else can log on. They receive the connection timed out error. I have tried port forwarding and when I use canyouseeme.org it shows the port not open, but the router shows that the port is. I am using At&t and was supplied with a 2wire router. I have used any option that I could find and yet am still having difficulty. Please help. Am I doing something wrong or have the options changed since 1.1? Most of the instructions that are out there are beta related.

  Make sure your anti-virus's firewall is disabled. Just adding an exception for port 25565 to it should supposedly work, though it didn't for me nor my friend.
