Is it possible to connect a Win7 machine to WinXP via ad hoc internet connection sharing (ICS)?

WinXp is connected to modem via LAN, Win7 will connect to WinXP via wireless

Answer:
Hi There, Yes it is possible. Just set it up on the XP machine and run the "flash drive" with the settings on the Win 7 computer. You should be able to connect to "MS Home" from the Win 7 computer. The "Home group" on the Win 7 machine probably will not connect to the XP computer. At least on my machines that's how they work. Now I just connect to the router using an ethernet cable because the wireless connection was "flaky". Every so often it had to be set up again and I got tired of the hassel. Hope this helps, Al
