ITunes Problem (this is not the first time I have posted a question with that title...)?
-
iTunes has always been one of my least favorite programs on the planet. This type of thing is exactly why: I always buy albums for my iPod Touch through iTunes (because I'm too lazy to go to a music store), and recently I have taken to using the iTunes preloaded app to download those directly onto my iPod without the computer's interference. My main library is on my personal computer. Then, when I want to back up my purchases to CD's, I use a family computer to back it up, just because my computer's disc burner causes it to overheat and shut down most of the time. So, these two computers are both linked to my Apple ID. So when I got my most recent album, I plugged it into my personal computer and started up iTunes. After I waited the ten minutes my computer takes to load the bulky program, my iPod (without syncing anything) suddenly lost all the album art for most of my albums (all of which I bought through iTunes) and loaded a bunch of songs from my library (that I had specifically removed from my iPod) back onto my iPod. Also it deleted all the playlists that I made on the Music app (but that is pretty typical). But, besides that, now it is saying that my computer doesn't have permission to meddle with my iPod for some reason. So, all the music that it reloaded back onto my iPod is both unusable and undeletable - apparently, not "having permission" or whatever the message said, means that it can only put un-clickable songs on my iPod. Not having album art bothers me (because I purchased it directly through Apple, my purchase history can back me up), and not being able to use my computer to edit my music choices on my iPod bothers me more. Both the device and the program are linked to the same Apple ID, and yet I don't have permission. This is with Apple's most recent, 10.5.3 software. I feel like my iPod has been violated by a shady program. Anyone have a similar experience? Any advice? I know that about 50% of yahoo answers questions are about iTunes, so hopefully somebody knows.

Answer:
i would say to back up your iPod to either your computer or iCloud, and then restore from the back up, to do that just open iTunes with your iPod hooked up, go to your iPod's name on the left-hand tool bar, there will be the option to restore and just click that, after it wipes your iPod it should ask if you want to restore from back up or set as a new iPod, check restore from back up, you'll probably have to load all your music back on it though. if all else fails, take it to an apple store
