Virus scan in safe mode?

Is there a way to run a virus scan on a computer that cannot even properly get into "Safe Mode"?

• not sure what happened or if my computer files became corrupt due to a bug only...but the windows froze up and then i shut the computer down...after the computer started back up it gave me option to start normally or with windows repair. but either one i chose..it would only go to a blank screen and i didnt know if i am suppose to wait for very long..but it just for 20 minutes it seemed was just blank,,so i tried starting it in safe mode by pressing f 8 and it tried,,but when it went to safe mode there were windows or a window trying to pop up,,but couldnt seem to download..so it shows "Safe mode " in the four corners of the screen,,but doesnt do anything..it just shows a pointer arrow that moves..but there is nothing to select. can run a virus scan anyhow on this to see if there is a virus and eliminate it or what can do? any help appreciated

  Yes there is if you have a CD/DVD drive connected. You download and burn this app [1] - needs a working computer, so off to your mate's place with you. Put the disc in the suspect machine and follow the easy instructions.
