Can you partition a drive without erasing data?

Hard Drive Partition Manager?

I own a 2 TB external Hard Drive that is formated in NTFS Microsofts File Format, I would like to partition the drive so that one half (1TB) remains in the NTFS format and the other half is in FAT32 format with out erasing any of the 200 GB of data already on the drive. I would like to do this so it looks like two separate drives on the windows machine and a 1TB drive on my Mac. So Basically i need a partition software for my windows XP machine Thank You

You can do this with gParted. It's free. The partition manager built into XP will NOT do a non-destructive repartition of your drive.

You don't. Windows XP includes a partition manager that can do this. This built in partition manager is able to shrink your current hard drive partition without erasing everything then create a new partition. It can't expand the partition, that's it. Don't listen to the guy below me. GParted is way more complicated than you'll need. It's a Linux Live CD! Are you comfortable booting into Linux?
