Is Command and Conquer Red Alert 2 still available online?

Best way to get Command & Conquer: Red Alert to run on my computer.?

  • I have installed Command & Conquer: Red Alert on my Toshiba that uses XP, by using the Windows Compatibility Wizard, but only the DOS version will work, and the sound does not work correctly. When I try to open the regular version an error comes up saying "....... No entry point found." I did not use the Red Alert Manager because I didn't know it existed until today when I was researching a better way to get it to work on my computer. I am perfectly willing to re-install a different way if anyone thinks that the way I installed it is not the best way and that a different way can get it to work better. Please help. Thank you. FYI: I did not download Red Alert from the internet. I am using old CD's that my cousin bought in the 90's, if that matters.

  • Answer:

That is a very old game. I was able to run in it in XP with the DOS version but you will not be able to play against others on a network or online since protocols do not work in XP. There is some patches but it will still crash. But your best bet is to put a old computer together with 95 or 98se or attempt to run it in a DOS BOX in XP. http://www.dosbox.com/
