How does the scan work on my printer?

Need to reinstall printer software to get the scan functions to work?

  • Whenever I go to scan something, which is infrequently, there is a message telling me to reinstall the software. I have an all in one HP 2355 Printer/Copier/Scanner. I did not always have this problem. I have to reinstall all of the software to enable the scan portion. Once I do my scan, it's months again before I scan again...and then it's gone again, while the copy and print capabilities continue to work fine. I'm thinking it's when we reboot that we loose it. Not sure though. So I just reinstalled it yet again, and I'm hoping I can do something to keep the scan software intact. Any advice???

    You may have to get an updated version of your driver by going to HP website and downloading appropriate driver for your OS and printer model. Do not connect the printer to the PC until the software tells you to do so. It may be a virus.
